2 reasons why people dont have pets |
Answer:
1, its really hard because they usually need constant care.2, it costs a lot to keep them healthy and happy. And 3, you have to carry a lot of responsibilities. ** Why not to have a pet? If you aren't interested, you travel a lot, or you know you are feckless (this isn't a swear word. It's a real word)' and are likely to neglect it. HOWEVER, if you'd like a dog but may want to travel, in 2 or 3 years, look into short term fostering with a lot of animal rescue charities. They often have the dog's veterinary care taken care of and you mainly pay for food. You save it from death and when it leaves you, it goes to a long term, checked out home. As to expense, space, time... consider preying mantis, huge native cockroaches that live on leaf litter and like a daily spray with water... There are some fantastic leftfield pets, out there. If you have a backyard, consider a couple of old classic breed chooks. DON'T get a rooster in suburbia. There are so content, as 2 or 3, wandering about. They do need good quality grain but they'll nibble grass and weeds, eat old bread and scraps, cluck, scratch about... If you have kids, ask for the quietest breeds. I remember, LONG AGO. my chums had a pet chook that they used to drape in baby clothes and take everywhere, sitting up in the dolls pram. Still makes me smile. Don't know if she was ever left in peace long enough to lay her eggs.
